Is it possible to have two DCX3200P2-M in the same room without the remote's IR conflicting?
No, it's not possible. (Last I tried, Shaw confirmed it back then.)
They are all (may be 1 exception but memory is fuzzy) programed the same so Shaw doesn't need more than 1-2 remotes for all their boxes.
There is no way to set channels, or set a receiver to use a certain set, while others use a different code, receiver/terminal limitation, not the remote's.
The Arris use different IR commands than the Pace and Motorola units, so that may help you work with that issue, but certainly more costly.
I would like to be able to use two boxes with separate remotes. The remotes can be set to link to different boxes but can the Shaw Motorola boxes be set to different IDs. Would this be a Motorola limitation or a Shaw decision?
There are some programs like School of Golf that I would like to keep and not have them killed in the reformatting that is sometimes needed.
As far as I know, it is a Motorola limitation, because every cable provider uses the same codes.
If one terminal was Arris and the other the Pace/Motorola ones this would work for you, they are very different remote commands.
