I see that this feature is added on your Shaw HD PVR, which I presume is the HDPVR - DCX3510
I have a DCX3400. Will this be upgraded to the new guide?
The following thread explains why the 3400 and existing 3200's deployed before hd guide was available have not received the guide.
That is one of the main reasons why they have not been Upgraded. As tyler has mentioned, around spring is when we are hoping to push that out to those boxes.
Dream Gallery now live?
The 3400 is unable to be loaded with the new guide software as it does not have a modem built inside of it like the new 3510's and 3200m's do
Yes, the DCX3400 has a DOCSIS2 modem built into it,
An embedded DOCSIS® 2.0 cable modem provides support for DSG and downstream channel bonding.
Pardon the misinformation provided by dawson.
There are other reasons for why the guide is not onnthe 3400 and that has been mentioned already in other threads.
Spring of 2013 is potentially when we are looking to load the new guide, barring any issues.
let me reword that...
they do have the modem but they are not active at this time.
Reason being is that we need to see how the software will work on the 3510 that was built to use this new software, and there are only about 1000-1500 of the new 3510's in the market and the are about 100,000-200,000 3400's and if we start to load all of the older ones on the box with out knowing how it will respond to the equipment in the 3400's it could cause the older PVR to crash and no longer work.
Sorry for the miscommunication
