We are moving into a new house and want to set up cable TV without cables going into the TV set. I have heard that this can be done with a wireless setup. What components do I need to achieve this?
Here is an example of a product that will do what you are wanting. Also extends IR.
Please note, if there are issues with picture quality, audio drops, etc, shaw is unable to support it. There sre many products on the internet, so i would suggest researching what fits your needs.
For only $154.81 each when QTY 50+ purchased - Wireless HDMI Extender Up to 65.6ft | Wireless HDMI
I'm sorry to tell you but this is not possible with the cable T.V services.
For the Shaw services to work you would need to have either a coax /RCA/component/HDMI cable going from one of our cable box's to the television set.
Thanks for the message. What about this that I got from a fellow Shaw sunscriber:
If you're purchasing a new TV or have a new TV. IT will have a wireless router on it toreceive Netflix, have internet etc. As far as setting up your cable you justneed a wireless adapter. Our is called “ Rocketfish”, we got our from futureShop(they can install as well). You need a power supply from where you want tohave your box(TElus, Shaw, digital, direct TV etc it doesn’t matter). The“Rocketfish” plugs into your cable box and has to be in the line of vision toyour TV. There is another little box or reader(it plugs into your TV) that willsit just above your TV on the wall. That needs to be in the sight lines ofwhere the other end of it is(located at your cable box). That’s about it.
IT woksjust like a remote works. You don’t need any cables or anything.
What is your Gateway box? A guy at Visions just told me that is what I needed
