about every 10 seconds or so yet the SD version on channel 33 does not.
This has been going on for the last 4 days or so. Can u guys fix this or will that cost us extra?
Issue should be resolved now. Please verify
Hi there bigscreenbob,
This may be a case of poor signal causing the channel to cut out. Is this happening on more than 1 TV, or just on one TV? Please check out the troubleshooting steps over at our How to troubleshoot poor picture quality / pixelation which should help to resolve the issue if it is indeed caused by a poor signal.
The problem is not on bigscreenbob 's side. bigscreenbob 's right, the audio issues on this channel are horrendous. Every several seconds at least, makes this channel unwatchable.
I don't know how long this has been going on because I don't normally get this channel (254). Once I found out this channel was on free preview, from another source NOT from Shaw, who I guess don't feel their customers might want to know this information, I've tried watching a few times but it's unwatchable.
Right now I'm not seeing any other reports, so we'd want to start by ruling out a signal issue in both cases since it's both common and generally easy to fix. neme Can you confirm if you have this issue on multiple televisions? What type of equipment do you have? Do you notice this on any other channels or is it just Slice HD?
I have a Gateway. It's just Slice.
It only happens with my 3510 pvr. The HD and SD Slice channels on my 3400 are fine (ch 254 and 41). The sound will go out once in a while on other channels with my 3510 but nothing like with Slice. It is constant, every 10 seconds, even during the commercials.
Thanks! I'm monitoring the channel right now and not seeing any issues. Is this happening at all times, or just affecting certain programs?
It's constant. Like I said, every several seconds.
neme I'll send you a DM in a moment so we can get the account info and take a look. Thanks!
I have a gateway and it happens on all 3 portals. Only slice HD. Not SD version. All other channels fine.
I've been watching Slice HD on our Gateway here and I'm not hearing any audio drops. bigscreenbob, budsgirl and neme could you provide your city here?
Thank you, we will escalate this to be looked into.
Thanks, it would appear this is not an area-related issue then. We're sending it up to our higher level teams to see if they are able to replicate the problem, we will let you know the result of that as soon as possible. If they are unable to replicate we may need to arrange service calls to check this further.
I Have also been experiencing this issue on all boxes within my home, and have initiated the investigation into the root problem.
a Ticket has been opened with our ops team to pin point where the problem is.
The audio drops appear to have stopped. Thank you for investigating this and finding a solution. When I tried to get it fixed with an online chat agent, he insisted it was a signal problem on my end.
I am also having an issue when I play back a recording a menu comes up during playback asking if I want to keep it or delete it before it is finished. No way to play the recording past that point, the delete menu keeps coming up at the same point. This has happened a few times now, on both regular shows and sports events. Suggestions?
What pvr do you have?
edit: I see you responded in another thread. Unfortunately I am not much help with regards to the 3510 and HD guide. The moderators in the forum Can assist with that.
3510, about 6 weeks old. Other users have complained about this problem on other threads, especially when taping sports. Happened again this morning with an English football game on ch. 23 at 4:30 am PST. Got about 10 minutes in and it wouldn't go any further.
Hi there - you were kind enough to assist me and a few others when we were having constant audio drops on Slice HD. Now it is happening on CBS HD. Is this something you can help with?
Now fixed-thanx mark vse, good to see action being taken on something we bring up.
Yay! Thanks for letting us know bigscreenbob! Thanks mark_vse!
Problem is fixed. Thank you.
I Have noticed the same problem with Slice mostly but it happens with other stations more sporadically. It only happens with my 3510 pvr, not my 3400 though the 3510 doesn't give the option of watching the SD channel. I tape ch 41 on the 3400 and it is fine. The HD channel is unbearable to watch. Has been going on for a couple of weeks now for me.
Was there a solution to this problem? As only one of us was offered help last night, I online chatted with another tech today. He had me unplug the 3510 pvr, unscrew the coaxial cable then put it all back together. Still audio dropping on Slice. So then he re-setted the pvr (thus once again erasing all my settings as it has been resetted a number of times since I got it less than 2 months ago) and the audio is still dropping on Slice HD. Was then offered a tech home visit but I have declined as a tech was here a couple of weeks ago on yet another issue with the 3510. Don't want to get a new pvr as I don't think it will help and I have programs recorded that I want to watch (my first 3510 was already replaced once).
Also, the agent online had no access to the problems addressed on these Forums so you all are "reinventing the wheel" with each problem/complaint instead of working together and coming up with solutions together. Not very efficient.
So after all that, my audio is still dropping constantly on Slice HD.
