Home alarm loss of communication

Received a code 94 error on home alarm, I am assuming that Shaw service had an outage(Winnipeg Tuesday 1-2 am). Now alarm company wants Shaw to check their lines first before alarm is tested/reset. Am I correct that Shaw's end is OK once service is restored or do I need a rep to inspect lines in home or some other checks I don't know of?
