im having problems with my nat on my xbox one and it wont switch from moderate to open any ideas?
Port forwarding the required Xbox service ports would be the best bet. Otherwise, you could place your Xbox into the DMZ on the modem. There's not a lot of risk there. Just don't put anything else on the DMZ (computers, other routers, etc) unless you're familiar with the risks.
Ports required to forward for Xbox Live:
All of this is possible from within the Hitron interface by default. Check out this guide on portforward.comPort Forwarding the Hitron Technologies CGN3 Router for Xbox One
For best results you'll probably want to setup a static IP on the Xbox One, or setup a DHCP reservation. I'm not entirely familiar with how to do that on the Hitron, but I'm sure there are some guides on Google for it.

Are you using an external router with your Hitron modem, or the Hitron modem only?
