Hi, the number 2 button on my Shaw HDPVR hasn't been working well the past couple weeks. Often I have to hit it several time before I can get it to work. And the number 2 is the button I most frequently use. Is there a way to correct this? Thanks.
What model of Shaw HDPVR do you have? Are you able to test with another Shaw remote to see if the issue persists?
We may just need to replace your remote - if the number 2 button is worn out.
Thanks for getting back to me, Ali. My Shaw PVR is "Shaw HDPVR-500GB (DCX 3400)" which I'm taking off the box the PVR came in. I purchased it in July or August of 2012. I don't have another Shaw remote to test with.
What is the procedure to go about replacing my remote? And would I have to do another setup with a new remote? I don't know how to do that :-( And I don't drive to be able to get over to the Shaw office. Thanks again.
Thanks breeann - I'll send you a direct message to get your account information. We can mail you out another remote as a replacement. You would have to set it up again to control your TV, yes, there are instructions that come with the remote - we can also guide you over the phone or chat service for the setup process - once you receive the remote to program it again.

Thanks, Ali. I may have to wait on getting a new remote. My husband recently passed away and my mind is so overwhelmed that I don't think I'd be able to figure out how to set up the new remote. So I'll have to get back to you later about this. I appreciate your help very much.
Sorry to hear that - we can also send a tech to do this if you are not comfortable setting it up on your own.

You can email him or you can click the 'Inbox' at the top of the page, or the link provided above by [shaw]ali. That will give you access to your direct messages (Indicated by an orangeish/tan envelope) which only you and whoever is involved in that discussion can see. ([shaw]ali in this case.) That will keep all your private info private. Whichever you prefer.
