when i use a program to find out my ip address it says it is in UK
also when i use google it comes up as google uk.
how do i correct this?
As far as I know, you cannot. WhateverIP geo-location system those websites are using, they haven't updated to reflect the fact that your IP is now in use by Shaw in Canada.
One thing that MAY help start the refresh process is to go to www.speedtest.net, run a speed test, then when the test finishes I believe there's a way to adjust your location if it's wrong.
Below the "input-area" box (the place where you would type something) is the line:
Your IP-address is 111.222.333.444
Reply here with the '111.222.333.444' value, but change '444' to 'xxx', to hide your personal IP-address.
Try this, too:
Click the Windows "Start" button
Type 'cmd' and press ENTER.
Type 'nslookup 111.222.333.444' and press ENTER.
In the output, look for:
Include the above line in your reply.
