I have the total home portal system and having troubles. I am having a technician coming on Tuesday to fix a issue with the gateway, but today i went to turn on the tv, and all it showed is the guide with no listings.
What is the problem
What lights are on your gateway?
To push the epg guide to the portals, if you go into settings, then go down channel list and hit back, next, back, next. Need to do this semi fast.
Once in the diagnostic screen, right arrow until you get to the media gateway and click on "update epg"
All the lights on the gateway must be on, or it won't download the epg.
If that goes through properly, and your portal still does not have guide, reboot the portal and see if that brings it back up.
Will try but we are already having an issue with the gateway as only the MOCA and WIFI lights are on.
Then it really doesn't matter and will likely have to wait for the tech
went into diagnostic and there is lots of red fails. and EPG says downloading. We have a tech coming on Jan 8 due to issues on gateway (only showing MOCA and WIFI lights), so there is nothing that you can do to help at this time? and this means that we will be without Guide for TV for 6 days! I guess I am going to check out competitors offers and see what they say they could give me, as we have just been having issues with shaw.
Didn't you create a post about this issue and myself and ali looked into it?
Situation sounds familiar
If the moca and wifi light is on, sounds like a gateway modem problem which may need to be replaced. If you reboot the gateway and those lights immediately show, the tech most likely is going to have to replace the gateway.
In any event, a tech is required to resolve the problem.
THe reason why there is no guide information is because the modem is offline, and there is no connectivity back to download the epg. That needs to be resolved to get everything back to normal. Sounds to me that the problem is hardware related.
I see in the other thread that ali was assisting you from a customer service side of things. If there is anything related to that, he is the best guy to contact
yes I did, thanks again for attempting to fix
Try rebooting the Gateway first (unplug power wait 30 seconds, plug power back in)
Then try rebooting one of the Portals.
