I have jsut completed the McAfee Virtual Technician session and it fixed some registry issues and some component that was missing.  This didn't fix my hard drive issue.  I have noticed that when I turn real-time scanning off, my CPU usage goes down.  It goes wild when I have Internet Explorer running.

Becuase you will ask, I have a HP G62 Notebook PC with 4GB RAM, and 64 bit OS and a Triple-Core Processor 2.20 GHz.  Before installing McAfee, I was using freeware and it was sailing like skiis on ice! Now I can describe my experience to snowshoeing on 2 feet of powder with an occassional hard spot.

Please provide more help in this area.
