no tv for 3 days with no notice!

My basic cable service has been disabled for three days so that Shaw can do a digital upgrade. Since I did not receive any notice of this, I had to navigate through tech support to find out why I had no service, that a tech is needed to visit my home and that this person would not even have been sent out unless I had requested it. As well, I had to request an adjustment to my account to reflect the lack of service for three days - none was offered until I asked what Shaw would do to compensate me for this lack of service. While I understand that adjustments to service need to be made, I really don't understand why I had to jump through all these hoops and still won't have service for several days.
