HD Guide Update: problems with remote

Both last night (March 25th) and this evening (March 26) beginning at 8 pm PST, my 3510 pvr has taken forever to respond to remote commands to the point where the tv is unwatchable.  It starts as soon as a small box shows up in the upper right corner of my tv screen saying something about the HD box being updated.  I can't watch recorded programs as I can't fast forward or stop the playback, or watch live tv if I want to change the channels at all. 


Since this is obviously a planned update, couldn't Shaw have started later in the evening than 8 pm PST???  This is now 2 nights in a row that I can't watch tv after 8 pm due to these updates.  And I see that this is going to happen again on March 30 and 31.  It seems ridiculous that updating pvrs results in not being able to watch tv during prime viewing hours.


This exact thing happened a couple of Sundays ago when there was a nation-wide issue with Shaw - my pvr didn't respond to the remote at all or it took forever.
