What is Shaw's messaging domain address?
I want to send someone a text message by e-mail.
I understand I need to add Shaw's messaging domain after the person's cell phone number. What is it?
If you are trying to send someone a text message using email, then you would enter their cellular provider's domain to the end of their telephone number.
If you are trying to send an email, via text message, on the phone, you would enter the email@example.com email address on the cellular phone.
I tried what I think you suggested, but it didn't work.
Is that what you meant: type the person's cell phone number in the To box in an e-mail message, followed by @shaw.ca ?
If so, this did not work.
The @domain.ca would depend on the cellular carrier,
Are a few of the Canadian cell phone providers, and some of the providers have more than one, depending on a few factors.
Thank-you, that worked!
However, the recipient of my text message sent by e-mail told me to get my message she first has to reply to an automated text message and tell it to send her my text message every time.
Is there a way for her to by-pass this step?
That is Rogers, yes and no, Rogers charges the cell phone account $10/month for that 'feature' last time I looked at it.
So yes, there is a way to bypass it, but not an attractive one...
I think it sends the From you part, and maybe the subject, but not the body of the message in the first message that needs replying to..
Thanks, I agree that's an expensive solution, but good to know.
