Does anyone know why a movie that you've ordered through EXO to playback online doesn't work with the Surfact RT? I couldn't find any specific requirements so I'm not sure what the Surface is missing.
Okay, so although we can submit vod.shaw.ca to Microsoft's CV list to work as a flash site on Windows RT, unfortunately we do not have the rights to show content via any mobile web browser (Android, iOS, Windows RT IE10). Only the desktop versions of browsers will support live streaming.
We do offer our Shaw Go Movie Central app for iOS right now and will be offering an Android version in the future, although I don't have any details at the moment on a Windows RT app. Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that we would offer an option for Windows RT.
The only requirements i think is that it has flash on it. We can ask a developer as well if there are any known issues.
What error message do you get?
With the Surface RT and most new Windows 8 mobile devices it appears Microsoft has created a 'Flash Whitelist' where only sites on this list can be viewed with flash. It looks like http://vod.shaw.ca/ is not a part of this Whitelist, maybe someone can request this to be added for all of our customers using this new system to watch VOD. In the mean time watching VOD on your Surface RT will be unavailable.
Hope this helps!
@slhice we're looking into this and I'll report back here when I can get some more details.
Wow - Microsoft is making it difficult to use their new little device....not such a smart move I wouldn't think given sales. Anyway, it would be great if you could let me know if you get the site whitelisted. Cheers! Stephanie
