Hi. I have set up a shaw.ca email address for work. I want to set it up so that every email bcc's to my boss. How do I do this?
Some email programs (notably Outlook) do allow you to set up an automatic BCC. Unfortunately our online webmail doesn't have that feature. But I can see how it is a very useful feature.
Which email program do you use to send emails?
I use Outlook 2013 and as yet haven't found how to set this automatic bcc up in that program either.
Thank you for your reply. Any suggestions with Outlook?
I'd better warn you, setting up automatic BCC in Outlook 2013 isn't the easiest process but it can be done. You can do it yourself or you can download a program that will set it up for you.
Here's a few sites that should point you in the right direction. If you don't feel comfortable setting up a VBA macro yourself, you can use a pre-made one but remember to use caution with anything you may find on the internet.
Create a BCC rule - HowTo-Outlook
Automatically BCC All Messages
Ok, after reading the "how to" on the VBA macro I'm going to pass. Unfortunately, using Outlook and creating new rules only allowed me to cc my boss after I send or receive emails, so for now that's as good as it's going to get. Too bad in the "creating new rules" of Outlook there isn't just a simple choice of cc'ing or bcc'ing.
thank you so much for your help and especially your promptness. Really appreciate it!
Microsoft definitely didn't make it easy. The option is there but it's not for the faint of heart. But at least you can still manually include your boss in every email you send. It's a little extra step each time but it does work.
