There was talk a while back about the HD guide being implemented on the DCX3400 HDPVRs. I did a search for any threads but it came back blank.
I would like to know if Shaw is going to implement the HD guide on the DCX3400 and if not - why?
The Why... would be because they want you to buy a new box.
Also they claim that it slows down the older boxes...so I highly doubt the DCX 3400's will ever see this update
I find it hard to believe the 3510 is that much more powerful than the 3400 that the guide will not run properly.
a lot of people actually seem to like the older I-guide more then the new HD guide because it is missing lots of features and the I-guide is easier to use
The older guide has more features and is more useful. I certainly don't want the HD Guide. I could have had it long ago. You can't have recordings take place automatically when a certain keyword (like the name of an actor, director or the name of a sport appears). I don't think you can manually set a recording far in the future, either. I prefer features, not looks. I figure the Guide is a tool, not something to admire.
I could never understand why they introduced something new that had fewer features.
