audio drop outs are horrible
can someone look into this and get it fixed please
Sounds like you've done quite a bit of troubleshooting here firstname.lastname@example.org.
This forum is mainly geared towards Shaw Cable customers so unfortunately we don't have much of a Shaw Direct presence to assist you with this. I would recommend that you visit www.shawdirect.ca/contact-us to get in touch with Shaw Direct so they can take a look.
Hey swiperthefox, could you let us know where you're located and what kind of cable box you've got?
Nothing reported here for any audio issues with DTOUR.
Have you noticed this with any other channels?
Last night channel 206 was terrible, Letterman almost unwatchable. Seems to be different channels. Other posts have mentioned many audio drop outs. Mine have been noticeably on 206 and 272 so far. I am in Cranbrook
I am in Winnipeg

only seems to be this channel i notice it
Motorola box we have upstairs does not exhibit same problem
must be box or stereo i am using....
but only this channel !!
Thanks for following up with that, we are collecting information on this and working out what exactly is going on!
also would like to mention
i unplugged power for about 5mins
plugged it back in, left it for about 15mins
came back seems to be same or worse
again, just that channel !
have not noticed it on any others that i watch(not a lot )
I live is Sarnia Ontario. Receiver is a 630 dvr . I have experience audio drop out for months. Like since the last major update push. The audio drop out is in only momentarily. It also appears to be the HD channels only affected? . First I thought it was the audio receiver I use , which is a Yamaha of a year old. Contacting Yamaha they said they are a ware of this issue and stated that there is now an incompatibility between the shaw receiver and the Yamaha using the HDMI cable. I tried swinging over to the optic source and the same issue was there. It is very annoying. We have tried other shaw receivers thru the Yamaha system and the same thing occurs. I would like to also note that for almost a year both systems (Shaw and Yamaha ) worked fine. The problem cropped up only after the last update push in 2014 , late fall.
I believe that it is a compatibility issue created from that last update to the Shaw receiver.
also to note the audio on the standard channels appear to be fine . We do not watch as many programs that are standard channels but this is what we notice.
also we have another older tv that is hooked up to that tv with the rca cables on the same satellite system and the audio thru the tv system ( no audio receiver) works fine.
the HDMI cable was also switched out but had no affect.
So to conclude....my audio drop out happens to the HD channels. Standard channels appear fine.
We have not done the direct connect to the TV , by passing the audio receiver connection, but I believe that the audio would be just fine thru just the tv audio. Because we do have other receivers that are direct connect to the tv and they do not experience audio drop out.
we also play music thru the audio receiver via the internet source and audio is fine .
