Hi I have lost over 30% of my recorded shows on my 1tb expander, I have looked through support and done the fixes to no avail. What is happenening?
Hi there, the only way to test this would be to use another esata cable to connect the expander to the Gateway. If the lost programs become available again then you will know it was the esata cable causing the issues. If this is the case we do still recommend keeping the appointment you have for Thursday morning. This way the service technician will be able to review everything and confirm the equipment is working properly.
Hello warskull. Were these shows marked as delete when space is needed or until you delete them? How full was your expander prior to the recordings going missing?
67% and when space was needed on some. I also tried the reboot of gateway and nothing showed except in options stating "drive removed"
On my way to work will bring up discussion when I get there, on Chatline they said my expander is dead, which does not seem right, as I have older HDD than this one still working
If it is showing drive removed, I would recommend double checking the connections, expander to Gateway, as well as insure the power for the expander has not come loose. It would also be a good idea to disconnect the expander from the Gateway and pull power for a few minutes. Plug the power back into the expander, wait about 30 seconds then connect it to the Gateway. You should get a pop up asking to Close or Format. Do not format or you will lose anything on the expander.
Wondering if the esata cable is faulty? Shaw is sending a tech Thursday morning, but I will try this fix again tonight. It is weird as it was working perfectly Sunday night.
