My wifi keeps dropping out and is week using the cisco DPC I have a Belkin n450 routher can I connect that to extend my wifi
Yes, you can certainly connect your own router. We'll need to make sure the DPC3825 is set to bridge mode first, though, in order to disable the built in router. I'll send you a direct message for more information so we can get that done for you.
Do you want to Extend your WiFi, running an Ethernet cable to the poor signal areas, plugging your n450 there to extend it? Or do you want to replace the WiFi with the Belkin one?
Yes I want to extend my wifi area. My signal is very weak away from the modem
If you match the WiFi settings, security type, passphrase, disable the DHCP server on the Belkin (unless it has an Access Point mode)
You can then connect it to the Cisco using one of the LAN ports on the Belkin, and it will re-broadcast the WiFi signal.
Your devices will connect to whichever is better for them.
