Second Direct Connection in the Basement

Hey there,

I am sure this question has been asked many times in the past, but apparently I am either exceptionally poor at searching forums, or this is just too simple that everyone knows it.

We have the cable internet and wifi router upstairs.

Our son uses the basement for his study/game room.

He uses wifi at the moment, however it's often a weak signal even with some wifi boosters, as the signal is going through mostly concrete floors.

It's not really plausible to run an ethernet cord all the way down to his computer, nor would it be aesthetically pleasing haha.

We have a cable connection for a tv down there though, in a motorola cable box.

My son and I are wondering if it's possible to hook up another internet box on that cable line, that would use the same internet connection as the one upstairs here?

Any information would be quite helpful.

Thanks!
