Recently purchased Motorola DCX3510. The volume has changed and volume has to be turned up to 50 plus instead of previous 18 -20 approx. The TV settings have been checked and seem to be correct. This has only happened since we changed to HDPVR?
I saw your neglected thread and thought I'd throw an idea at you.
Hit MENU and go into "settings". From there, navigate the following: "audio" and then "audio output".
Now look at the "audio range". You will have three options: normal wide narrow
Which option is it on? You'll find that normal will be the loudest while wide and narrow will be much lower.
Let me know if this works!
Thanks for reply. . no fix found yet. All the audio settings have been tried by me and Shaw tech on house call.
After going on line to research It seems to be between pvr box and tv. The volume was fine with previous Motorola hd box and same tv.
Set your Shaw remote to operate the volume on the cable terminal (instead of TV or audio system) and try maxing the volume on the cable terminal.
I know all prevous models (before the 3510) you were able to control the output volume on the terminal. Can someone else confirm if this is still a 'feature' with this new software.
If your terminal somehow got turned down, it would do this.
Which remote do you have?
