Hi - I recorded the race at 4:55 a.m. and when started to watch it there was no sound. At 10:00 I realized that it was on again at 9:00 same channel. I was able to record the last hour with volume, but was very frustrating.
My PVR also recorded 2 hours of silence. I do have some questions. Why was there no on-screen notice posted stating that there were transmission issues? In two hours of silence, did anybody notice? If it was TSNs issue, did anyone contact them to report the silence? Why couldn't it have been fixed within the two hours?
Overall a very poor example of quality control. I watched what might have been a good race in silence. it is suprising how boring it gets without the commentary. Try the same thing with a hockey game.
Very disappointing and annoying.
Sorry about the lack of audio on that recording, that doesn't make it very watchable does it?
Checking from our side, it looks like there was an issue with TSN1 at the time the race aired, but it's since been resolved.
Apologies for the trouble with that. Let us know if you do run into any similar issues in the future and we'll be happy to look into it.
Hello John Maycock
It appears to have been some issue from the broadcast side. We would get in contact as soon as it was noticed or someone called in about it. We do have monitoring teams who are watching for these issues in order to catch issues quickly.
For why it took two hours we really can't tell. We have no idea what issue could have been going on that would have caused this issue but appears to have not been as easy a fix as just flicking a switch or something else. I do wish we had some more info but we are always working to ensure issues like this come up as rarely as possible!
