Hi. I am getting nothing but snow on my TV. I tried the solutions already posted, but I have lost the original remote for the TV. Is there any way around this? Thanks.
If you have misplaced your original TV remote and are unable to change the channel to 3 or the video input to the correct source manually on your TV to use with our digital equipment, you have a few options that you can try.
Dependent on the Shaw remote you have and the way the digital box is setup to your TV you can either program your Shaw remote to use with your TV or you can attempt to power cycle your TV in hopes it resets back to its original setting with channel 3 displaying.
To Program the Shaw remote to operate with your TV you will require one of the Atlas remotes found here: Shaw Cable Remote Support If you do not have the Atlas Remote you may want to proceed to power cycling the TV. Once the remote is programmed you would first press the TV button then try the Source button at the bottom if you were needing to change the input, or press the channel 3 button to change your TV to channel 3.
To Power Cycle your TV first turn the TV off, then pull the power plug just to your Television. Wait roughly 1-2 minutes to allow the TV to reset then plug it back in. If all goes as planned your TV should be on channel 3 and if the digital box is plugged in and powered on you should see picture.
If these steps didn't help please let us know and we can see if there is anything else to try!
I tried option #2, to Power Cycle the TV, but it didn't work. I get Channel 003 but no signal. What now? Thanks for your help. Robin
It's okay Dayne, I had two cables crossed. Everything works now. Thanks for your help. Robin
Edit: That's good to hear! Glad everything is up and working well
I assume you are using our digital box and that the power is on with the light showing up or channel number dependent on the type of digital box. If this is plugged in with a standard Coaxial cable you should be receiving television on that channel, if you are using alternate cables you may need to either find a replacement remote for your television in order to change the input to the correct one to receive signal through our digital box.
There is a great support document found here: Weak or No Signal on TV that will outline the problem you mentioned with 'No Signal'.
If these steps do not help with getting your television services back up I would need to know a bit more about how the television and digital box is connected as well what cables are being used?
Good Luck, and I look forward to hearing the results!
