yup .. when you receive a message they appear next to the message, then magically disappear. I have googled for an answer to no avail.
The Blue dot that you are seeing is the marker that it is a new message that has not been read. If it changes without you clicking the message it may be that when one of your other devices (IE cell phone or laptop) pull your messages from your webmail server, they are no longer being marked as read. I hope that helps. Have a great night
Hmm ... I can't relate to your answer. I just sent a mail to myself as a test. Upon receipt it is in bold. You open it and it removes the bold as expected. However, reviewing the mail in the side panel does not remove the blue dot. Only if you double click the mail and force it to open fully ie not in the preview pane, does the blue dot disappear.
I can't speak for the rest of the world however, personally I never open mails fully, and always read the mail in the side panel.
Not a useful feature in my opinion. in fact very annoying.
I can see where you are coming from, as if you are only using the preview panel it would still maintain the blue dot. The reason it is designed that way is because allot of the time will accidentally preview emails without realizing or reading them. This just helps make sure you don't miss anything important. Defiantly valid feed back though as it is a point of view not often considered. Have a great night.
