Twice overnight my DCT3080 PVR has gone off by itself. In the morning I'd unplug it for a minute and it would come back on after displaying DI or DL for a few minutes. Is the finished or is there a fix?
The DCT3080 model is starting to reach the end of its product life. But I know there are many out there still chugging along, recording and playing.
i don't want to tell you that it's time to replace this one if it still has some life left in it. So hopefully we can do what we can to keep it working.
If it's going off on itself, and needs to be unplugged to get it going again, it could be a power issue. Is it direct to the wall socket or does it go through a powerbar? If it's to a powerbar, it's possible that it's being starved for power. If possible, try putting it direct to the socket.
And if the display is going to DL, it could be having an issue connecting to our servers. Reconnect the coaxial cable on the back of the DCT3080 and at the wall outlet in case the cable readjusted itself.
If the issues continue after these steps, we can private message you for your account info and try a reset. But we try to avoid that with these older units as I've seen some reset and not turn on at all anymore.
