how do I hook up a PVR and VCR to a 20 year old TV without a tuner? currently VCR hooked up.
Hi there lornajj
I'm just wondering a couple things about your equipment there...
Which model of PVR is it?
And, which sort of input options do we have on the TV and VCR - just regular coax input or composite (red/white/yellow) as well?
it is an older pvr - from Shaw - the type that can record 2 shows at a time - I don't know the model number yet - my sister is giving me the pvr soon. The VCR is a combo VCR/DVD unit from Toshiba. The TV and VCR/DVD unit have the coax input and the red/white/yellow - I have VCD/DVD hooked up with regular cable input and the red/white/yellow right now.
Tuner would be to 'tune' channels, channel 3, 4, 10 ect.
If it has no tuner, then you won't have a coaxial input on your TV?
The PVR to your VCR/DVD unit with either the Yellow/Red/White or the coaxial cable (if your TV has an input).
And then the same cables between your TV and your VCR/DVD. Select the composite input on your VCR/DVD, which should pass the TV signal through to your TV when not watching a movie.
If using the coaxial cables, your TV and VCR/DVD player will allways stay on channel 3 or 4.
