many channels that I am paying for are not coming in suddenly. all I get is the annoying message telling me is should be available shortly. what can be done about it?
Unplug the digital box for about a minute and then plug back in. Channels should be back but if they aren't, call or use concierge (shaw friends) to have them reset.
Available shortly is a signal issue
Try resetting the terminal, incase the frequencies changed and it missed the update https://activations.shaw.ca/Activate.aspx
Also possible your area went though the next stages of the DNU, and the frequencies the stations you're not getting, are being filtered out by the tier traps.
Sorry to hear that some of your channels may not be coming through. The "One Moment Please...Channel Will Be Available Shortly" message is almost always caused by a cable signal issue. Some simple things you can try that will often improve the cable signal can be found in One Moment Please Error (Ref Code: s0a00).
If this doesn't provide a solution, can you please let me know if you have any other TVs with digital equipment that are able to receive these channels, if you have multiple TVs that are all missing these channels, or if this is your only TV.
