If I add a new contact or update an existing contact in my shaw email account, it doesn't show up on my Samsung Galaxy III phone contact list. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks!

My issue with your solution is that I've ALREADY set up my email months ago using the other configuration. So, are you saying I have to delete my Shaw account on my phone and set it up again using the Microsoft Exchange configuration? Will I loose information and history if I do that?
You can setup both on your phone if you want, to see how they each perform for you...
Incoming mail should still be on the Shaw server, outgoing emails, those wouldn't be kept if you deleted the POP/SMTP account.
