A very Important Update for People with slow connections

I was recently contacted by shaw customer service in winnipeg about the slow speeds I have been getting. The short and long is the node for my area is saturated at times. They have given me a few options of getting a $20 credit or downgrading my service since they cannot provide the bandwidth. Having said that I was also informed the node was marked for an upgrade. TIme frame could be 6month to a year.  Credit for shaw for apologizing and offering options as far as credit and changing my service. I think those of us with 50mbs/s or higher should downgrade to something slower and put less strain on the node. It might take just a few to do this so everyone can have more reliable service. When upgrades are done we can all go back up.

 

Also if you are having slow speeds and phone tech support ask if the node for your service area is saturated. That way you don't have to waste time direct plugging in to modem or wondering about viruses, or having a bad router or cabling.
