I noticed on WPIX-TV (PIX11 New York) the image is getting cut off. Would it be easier to just letterbox the channel so we can see more information?
Nice! Thanks for keeping us posted. Glad it's looking correct now.
Hello partlyrespon754 ,
Thank you for reaching out to us. The letterbox set 4:3 aspect ratio would be the only way to see all of the information.

Do you mean a setting on my PVR or can you guys change it at the head end?
Changing the aspect ratio is not something we can complete on our end. You would have to change it through the settings on your PVR. Here is our community document on the steps How to change the resolution settings on your Digital Box.
Yeah, that won't work. Thanks for your suggestions.
Another possibility may be if your TV's own aspect ratio is set to "zoom"? Would also investigate there as well. If nothing works then it may be the feed itself that we get, apologizes on that.
No, it's set to normal. Just was wondering. This is probably the feed you guys get.
I just checked the same channel on my set. It is zoomed as well, but not at my end. The result is two-fold: 1) the image is large, thus excessively cropping off text, etc., at the bottom and 2) it is fuzzy. The SD image (on too many channels) is bad enough, but this is much worse. Except for those with exceptionally old TVs, most people now have HD capable televisions. Surely Shaw could provide the full range of HD available channels by now. Everyone else does. If it did, problems like WPIX's poor picture would disappear and customer satisfaction would go way up.
I've been watching WPIX for awhile now, but I haven't run into an image that's indicating it's been cut off, but maybe there just hasn't been any text or graphics which have come up which run right to the edge.
partlyrespon754, dxer any more images by chance? We can send this to our video operations teams to investigate and possibly correct.
Yes, here's one:
I was monitoring the channel and can see it now too. On commercials and the TV show, it is cutting out the left and right.
It does look like an issue with the feed we are receiving. I've sent it on to our video operations team now.
Thanks for your update. That's exactly what I was seeing too.
Thank you for changing the channel for me. It is now in Letterbox 4x3! I can now see all the information.
