Blackberry Playbook delivers error message on email transmit and receive.

Blackberry Playbook delivers error message on email transmit and receive.  Message is "This file could not be opened.  check that you have the correct permissions and try again".  I thought the error was caused by the Playbook.  But it seems to be from Shaw.  Fix from Blackberry Support community forum from another Shaw customer with the same problem reads as follows: "I contacted a sympathetic (and knowledgeable) Shaw tech services guy who also owns a Playbook (Shaw is my ISP) and we worked through all the email permutations (pop, imap) and the various ports with encryption both on and off.  Finally arrived at a place where email error is gone.  He's not sure what the final fix was but admitted there was a definite bug with the way their server handled my messages (so a shaw problem, not a Playbook problem)."  Would appreciate if the Shaw tech services guy who solved the problem or someone else familiar with it could jump in and assist here too.  Thanks
