Hi ettlesba. Sorry your post sat unreplied to for so long. If your cable box has NO IP on the front display, it definitely doesn't seem to be getting a signal.
Now, it is possible that when it was connected to the power bar that the cable box was starved for electricity. But do I understand that you bypassed the power bar and have it direct to the wall socket directly again? If it was a power issue, it should have regained the signal again.
But it's possible that when you moved the cable box, it might have readjusted the coaxial cable. Could you unscrew and reconnect the coaxial cable on the back of the box? If the front display doesn't change, could you follow the coaxial cable and then do the same at the wall outlet? Also on both ends of the splitter if there is one between the box and the outlet.
