how to setup private VPN networks on android phone
And on Routers?
Hi nanamcd. I wouldn't be able to give you any advice on this as VPNs aren't a service that we offer. I would advise going to a search engine, such as Google or Bing, and typing in "vpn" along with "android" or the brand of your router.
Thank you for answering my questions quickly.
And I will follow your advice...
Thank your so much
You're welcome. ◕ ‿ ◕
I've played around with VPNs on my own Note 3. Not too hard to use but it will slow down your data connection of course. I can't give advice on which one to use but there's a lot of good sites that compare the different ones that are available.
You do not have to worry, at least your get helps and answers to my question....
You have done your duty well.
Thank you again
I'm not sure this is an option with Shaw modem router combos.
I have my DCP3825 in bridged mode and use my own router (Linksys e1200.) flashed with TomatoUSB firmware which does allow for this. DD-WRT also allows for this. (Both have other cool options not available with default firmware.)
I chose to use the software route as [shaw]lance mentioned it does affect all devices, and you may not need the service for everything.
If sending direct messages was not such a PITA to set up I'd love to help you with this, but as mentioned, it's a real PITA!!! I get they want to protect their clients from spam but it's overkill. Too many hoops, and even though I recently thought I jumped through all the hoops I still can't send the person a DM. No other forum I am a member at makes it this hard, and spam is not an issue on any of them. Anyway, I digress.
I'd love to know what you need the service for (hardware wise) and if you really need the whole network to run through the VPN. There are better options if you are say, trying to get the US version of Netflix for example.... but that's a discussion for another forum, (Say, DigitalHome[dot]ca should you care to discuss it there.) or DM's buuuut...
Ive set a 700gig PPTP openvpn on my router settings by going to 192.168.0.1 or 127.0.0.1.
Who is providing your vpn connection?
I use VPN from Private Tunnel
Please and thank you for talking the time to answer my questions..
You mean I can go to settings on my Router by: 192.168.0.1
And set a 700 gig PPTP<<< So sorry I not can understand?
You can let me know By step to step please?
The built in VPN feature of the DPC3825 is broken.. It is designed for site-to-site (connecting your home's network with your brother's for example), but it is broken, some needed settings screens are hidden.
You will need your own router to do the VPN (or ask your VPN provider if they have a router they can send you already setup, some do), or do the VPN on your devices.
