no IP, no UI, CnEr on HD box.

I just signed up for cable and hooked up my HD box yesterday. I am getting a no IP error followed by no UI. I have tested the cable line from my house to the box and reset the box a few times. I contacted Shaw support online yesterday and he said he could not reach my cable box however I was able to successfully activate it.
