Last weekend, at the suggestion of Shaw support, I replaced my older Motorola modem with a much newer Cisco (both a modem and router). Prior to making the change my internet download speed was typically between 10 Mbps and 11 Mbps. Since making the change, I have yet to top 8 Mbps, so by following Shaw's advice, driving to your store and performing the replacement, I've lost about 20% of my performance (as measured by speedtest.net). Upload speeds are more or less the same.
Is this normal, or is it possible there is a configuration issue/error at your end?
