How do I block emails (in shaw webmail) that I'm receiving from another forum (x-box) - I have marked them as Spam, and every time I receive one - I click on "stop receiving emails on this discussion" - but they keep coming! Grrr :-(
Marking them as spam is a good step. Another one is adding the email address to the Webmail filters so that they automatically go to either the trash or junk.
Guide to setting up filters is at Shaw Webmail: Introduction to email filters and spam settings.
When you're creating the filter, be careful in the 'from' field. If you set it to 'does not match exactly' or 'does not contain', you might end up casting your net too wide and getting other emails caught up in the filter too. That's why it might be best to have those emails get filtered to junk until you know you have the filter just right.
Thank you so much! I've just done that - :-)
BTW - I'm still getting the emails even though I thought I'd blocked them! They don't even go into Spam.
Hey again rubytuesday49 ,
Definitely an annoyance to keep getting unwanted emails. If you take a look on any of these emails, are you seeing an Unsubscribe option? Usually that will be near the bottom and trying to unsubscribe at the source may be the best option here (if you haven't tried this already).
Another option would be to right-click on any emails that do still seem to get past any filters you've got set up and select New Filter. This will create a filter for that particular email address and subject. You can remove the subject to filter just that email address or create the filter with the email address and the subject if these are common to the emails that still come through. Make sure to set the Filter action to be 'Delete' assuming you want them immediately deleted.
Hopefully this helps, but let us know if you're still seeing unwanted emails come through.
