whenever i change my ip address it always has the same ip range of 70.79 or 24.87, how do i get a new ip range so the first 4 digits arent always the same.
Short answer is you can't.
IP addresses are routed in blocks (subnets) to your area.
The blocks that have been assigned to your neighborhood, are set.
Suppose my next question is why do you need to?
Banned in a video game and they catch me by my ip address being similar lol, i guess i needa move...not gonna happen. What if i got a new router? Would that change anything.
A different router (or just a different MAC address) will get you a different IP, but still part of the same subnet.
VPN service (I was doing research earlier today for VPNs that would give you a dedicated IP, so not shared while you use it) both static and dynamic addresses available. Dedicated so online stuff like gaming still works properly.
Getting a business account with a static IP would give you an address starting with 184.
These are basic suggestions, but I don't want to provide too much detail in getting around IP bans.. When I ban an IP on my servers, there is a reason for it... lol
a VPN wouldn't work because they basically catch everyone that uses them somehow and what game do u have servers on?
Some VPN services provide a feature for this, dedicated IP - so the game doesn't see multiple accounts from the same IP address, some it is even possible to get a 'fresh' IP, one that has never been used online before. The multiple accounts from the same IP is usually how they are seen.
Depending on the server admin, they can take an IP address and see who's service it is - try your own IP with a service like MaxMind to see that it says Shaw. Then a server admin goes and looks up the company to see what they do, they see a VPN service, they block the whole assigned lot. It is labour intensive, so this usually isn't done. Takes too much time..
What is on my servers, isn't important to this conversation.. lol
