For some reason this problem has only happened in the past week or so. As far as I know, my settings are all correct; I haven't changed them since before the problem began. Any ideas?
Sometimes people are off using older information and that is the cause. The following link has all the steps to try, just go thru it all to be safe and hopefully that will get it! https://community.shaw.ca/docs/DOC-1055#solution4
Usually when I come across an issue where people can receive but not send, I usually get them to just re-enter the settings in the email program or app.
Unless it's a Mac Mail program or app in which case the entire SMTP section of the settings might need to be deleted and recreated. One of those known issues on a Mac that comes up every now and then.
Which email program or app are you using?
I am using the Mail App on my Macbook. I have already attempted to delete and re-enter all the information for the outgoing mail server, but still whenever I try to send mail I get an alert saying 'can not send message using the server. The server response was: Authentication Required'
Thank You! I still have no idea what the problem was but after resetting everything it's working.
The most common cause is the email program you are using will update and something will change a setting somewhere. Luckily that is rare but hopefully that will be t he last of your issues.
