I just upgraded my internet to BB 50 today, bought a new router (cisco N750). When playing games, the latency is up and down continusouly, causes some lag, both wired and wifi. Anyone knows the problem and how to fix this?
Firmware update on the router.
If you remove the router, plug directly in, does the problem go away?
Can you plug directly in, and check the IP address on your computer, making sure you are not getting a 192.168 address (to confirm your modem is bridged).
Hi, thanks for reply.
Firmware is up to date.
Everything is fine without router.
I asked them to install for me and made sure that modem is bridged. It was fine this afternoon after installed, but after the technician came and fixed my homephone, the latency's been unstable since then.
If everything is fine without the router. It will be an issue with your router, or something else in your home, but the Shaw part will be ok, and they won't be able to help you much with it.
If it only happened after your homephone was fixed, maybe get the signal on your modem checked, but I doubt it, because it is ok without your router connected.
