Standalone Gateway not working

I purchased a standalone Gateway recently from a Shaw store and was told that I should be able to install it myself without tech help. I installed it according to the instructions and activated it. When I turn it on it appears to go through the proper motions, Arris logo on TV, Arris logo Off, HDPVR off, HDPVR On and then I get the Installer screen. When I hit the Live TV button I just get the "Shaw" logo scrolling down. When I hit the guide button I will see the times horizontally across the screen but no content. When I hit VOD I get the same results. When I hit PVR it says "No Gateway Found". Is there something wrong with the HDPVR or do I need additional install equipment like a drop amp or Moca filter? I disconnected my DCX3510-M, that I have been using for the last three years, and put the standalone Gateway in it's place and am still getting the same issue. I also have a DCT700 on another TV and it works fine. Any help would be appreciated.
