I pay for this phone for MY convenience, not so some clown from Telus can spam me and disturb my home.
Why is 604-310-2255 making it though when its blocked?
Sorry to hear this is happening to you. Telemarketing calls can be very annoying and we can definitely understand why you would want to block this. Have you answered any of the calls to be sure it's actually Telus on the other line? Some companies have found ways around having their numbers blocked by "spoofing" - essentially this means they're actually calling from a different number than what is showing up on your call display. This news story gives a little more insight into how this can happen: Spoofing: Why the number on your call display may not be correct - Toronto | Globalnews.ca I'm curious if this call is actually coming from Telus or another caller.
*60 #01# says number last caller party is not available.
it says 604 310 2255 on call display.
I'd hope Shaw can put an end to these shenanigans.
The number itself is definitely a Telus number - I tested it out and got a recording saying "Hi, thank you for calling Telus...". However, what I'm concerned about here is that another company may be calling and maybe spoofing the number to appear to be Telus. Have you answered any of the calls? Or you're just going by what appears on the call display?
its a east indian accent, I usually tell them to get lost and hang up.
Thanks! There are a couple things you can do here. #1 - you can ask to be placed on their "Do Not Call" list the next time they call. Most reputable companies will honour this. #2 - you can be asked to be placed on the National Do Not Call list. If they continue to call, you can file a report. You can register your number and file a report by visiting National DNCL Home : National do not call list #3 - If you believe the number is being spoofed, you can file a report with the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. You can file a report here: Report an incident
One thing to keep in mind is the National Do Not Call list only works for Canadian companies. If the call is actually coming from outside of Canada, then the NDNC list won't apply, but you can still file a report with the Anti-Fraud Centre.
You can use third party iOS app to block spam calls. I found some application to stop spam calls just like TrueCaller, Look UP, Nomorobo and more application and without app how to stop spam call on iPhone read this thread.
