WiFi Canon Printer connection issues Cisco router access point

Hello, Full disclosure. In my household, I have access to both a Telus WiFi router and a Shaw Cisco DPC3825 router. At all times, I'm following the same steps , whether I try to set-up/install & connect to my Canon Pixma MX870 WiFi capable printer. I'm having no difficulty installing, setting up and connecting to the printer when I'm on the Telus router. But for some reason, I'm unable to properly install, set-up and connect to the printer when I'm connected to the Shaw router.

This occurs whether I'm installing two year old printer driver or downloading an updated driver.

Does anyone have any suggestions. I've looked a the Canon website support. As far as I can tell, I'm properly following the instructions.

Cheers,
