How do I restore audio signal through Arris Gateway Portal?

Hi!  My family uses the Arris Gateway with Portals for our digital cable.  I am having trouble with the Portal connected to my television.  Beginning yesterday, the portal no longer transmits audio for TV shows.  The Portal's sound effects are still audible through the TV, however.  I have so far experimented with: muting/unmuting, adjusting volume, reconnecting power, reconnecting audio/video cables, reconnecting the coaxial cable, resetting the portal, trying different shows, and testing other portals in the house (which are working fine).  The portal is connected to the TV via component cables.  Using HDMI is not an option as that feature on my portal stopped working last year.  What else can I try to get audio for TV shows to work again?
