I have a wifi webcam set up in a bedroom about 25 or so feet away from the open wifi modem. The current Cisco modem operates at 2.4 ghz. There are some obstacles in the way of the wifi like a wall and another middle bedroom to the room where the wifi is located.
I have set the channel to 11 for wifi which seems to give the best of the worst performance and signal combination, but it's not ideal. The area is surprisingly congested in the subdivision. Just short of running a long ethernet cable, are there any better suited Shaw modems that can deal with those obstacles or is it better to buy a router and bridge the modem?
