My Internet speed is currently 29.9 Mbps and Upload is 2.64. The download package is 50 Mbps and upload is 3 mbps
I need it fixed now For my live stream Friday.
And I have tried the suggested ways of fixing it.
Seriously you're complaining about that! I would LOVE to have those speeds. I barely hit 2MBps on a good day from node saturation! You're with in the acceptable levels and you ran that test during PEAK times. Daytime it will be better.
Shaw won't do nothing because you're getting what you paid for. Just because you pay for 50MBps in the real world you will NEVER hit that because of a variety of factors. Also upload fall under the same thing!
Nothing to fix! Be happy your net works, some of us have had crap net for over 8 months with no end in site..
The connection is fine for Streaming. Don't know why you think 30MBps down 2.7 up on a average is not enough..lol
I can't even stream youtube..Would you sooner have this?
Or this? As sparkybc and kevinds said, what you have at peak times will improve during non-peak times and the speeds you posted are more than sufficient for your needs
30 mbps should be sufficient for any live-stream... Upload, that is close enough to your maximum speed, that there isn't anything to fix.
I think we've played "Who has the tiniest d#%*" long enough in this thread. The West Kootenays area in BC has by far the worst service from Shaw anywhere... Regardless, this isn't even bad by the third-world standards out here. I've seen the download speed go as low as 0.2-0.1 megabits around 7PM. Node saturation is beyond ridiculous out here. I can only get above 10Mbps from 2AM to noon, which isn't a very practical time frame to be using the internet in the first place.
So here's some math for you. 1 megabit is 125 kilobytes. So 0.2x125 = 25 kilobytes per second. Remember dial up back in the day? 56 kilobits. Divide that by 8 and you have 7 kilobytes per second. Not much of a difference in terms of what you can do with the respective speeds, is there?
The only reason I switched back to Shaw was because of the fiber optics they were supposed to have last year in my area. They've been pulling the run around and keep saying next month, next month, next month... still waiting. So aside from that, I'm quite inclined to call Shaw and tell them that if this is the speed I'm getting, (which is approximately a fortieth of the speed I'm being promised) I'll send them a fortieth of my internet bill.
So yeah, don't think your internet is bad dude, I would s^&% the bed if I had that kind of speed.
To be completely honest It gets worst the earlier the day is, and It used to be 50mbps, It dropped 20mbps, Yea its a lot compared for you guys, but its noticeable when I'm trying to download my games, the upload stayed the same, I don't need to change the upload.
It just gets worse
