Is this service included with our cable subscription? They are advertising on the channel that it is - but I am unable to find a link for more information on the Shaw site, or the Sportsnet World Online site.
It doesn't appear to be included in anybody's cable subscription (from any of the carriers with SportsNet World).
Here is the subscription information though Sportsnet World Online
Actually, if you look at that site it has the following information - stating the following (note the second Q&A here):
Q. If I already subscribe to Sportsnet World on television, can I watch the channel online?
A. If you currently subscribe to Sportsnet World on Rogers Cable you can watch all of the channel's content as part of your subscription, plus additional matches that will be available online only.
Q. What if I subscribe to Sportsnet World through another television provider?
A. The decision to provide Sportsnet World Online is up to the individual television service provider. Please contact your local television provider directly to determine if this is available.
We've received at least a couple of requests for Sportsnet World Online. I've sent up a channel request for it already.
If we do eventually get it, it should be posted at Shaw - TV:News and Free Previews.
I'm sending in my email request weekly; I hope multiple requests from an individual count
tyler Will get really used to your information I think he gets all those emails
Multiple requests from one account, will count as one customer requesting the channel.
However, feel free to link the channel request form to your friends and family, who want to see this added: Channel Request(s) Form 1.0
These emails go to more than 1 person.
Sending in my e-mail request now. Have to figure though that this service falls into a grey area in terms of being made available as a "new channel" Technically isn't this something that we, the customer, are already paying for? I understand that it's still something that Shaw would need to pursue since it was originally only made available to Rogers clients. I'm just surprised that you folks are still waiting for enough people to "request" a service many (myself included) may think they already have access to.
Fair point, I guess since this is an optional add-on to the Sportsnet World service left up to the service provider, I am not quite sure if this as simple as requesting access from Rogers or what's involved to make this happen. What the request form will do is get it on the radar of the people in charge of making this decision, that this is something that customers want.
I will be sure to utilize the Channel Request Form after making this post. I hope Shaw gets on this, I am an avid 'football' fan and have paid $298.87 to date for SW Online access in addition to the approx. $195 for the Shaw channel (local 154) paid over the same time frame. Obviously if I could be getting both for the price of one, it would make things a lot easier - particularly as this isn't the only channel I'm paying extra for to get full access to maximum football coverage.
I'd really like to hear an update on the situation myself. If this issue is as simple as the Sportsnet World Online website makes it out to be (that Shaw simply need to request that SNETW make available login details for those of its customers that are already shelling out for their service) than this should be a no-brainer. It's getting to the point in the season where there will be some matches that footy fans will want to watch live, but that the big channels will only be showing as replays or not at all!
So, the EPL season is almost at a close and we never did get that lovely web access that we payed for. I'm really not sure how much work this could possibly entail... one e-mail from the appropriate Shaw employee to the designated Rogers/Sportsnet World operator requesting some access codes be made available to their paying customers?
I missed at least a handful of my club's matches this season, while still paying the monthly 15 dollar gouge for SNW. Our household will be moving on to a new provider in our neighborhood for TV/Internet/Phone as soon as we have finished the payment cycle for our useless Gateway system this summer. All I was looking for was a solid response from an employee about why I couldn't have access to something I was paying for.
Thankfully I won't have to rely on SNW for my World Cup coverage at least!
I can understand that you would appreciate a solid response from us but unfortunately I don't have any details to provide on why we don't offer this add-on service. I have shared this conversation with a couple "higher ups" in hopes someone can chime in here.
Hope everyone is having a nice afternoon
From the Sportsnet World Online website:
"If your cable/satellite TV provider is not listed, please let them know you want Sportsnet World Online. We look forward to working with them to provide their customers with access. In the meantime, be sure to go to sportsnet.ca for additional sports video content."
Your move Shaw!
Another month has gone by, meaning we've all paid more money for our SNETW subscriptions, but there's still one feature none of us are getting. Any chance we can hear what the status of the request it now? I've already missed a few games I really wanted to see, and the advertisements for the online component are still being falsely shown all over Shaw.
