So I went and downgraded my tv service this afternoon when I paid my bill at the Shaw service centre. Kudos to the friendly CSR who actually managed to try and upsell me to Internet 150 on a two year contract with a staight face. Couldn't have been easy, but at least it gave me a good opportunity to inform her that I would not do a contract with Shaw as I fully expect to be decreasing my services further with the next rate increase or disappointing package offering (probably pick and pay phase 2, but we will see).
The rate increase last year cost Shaw about $350 in loyalty/retentions offers. This one and the disappointing roll out of pick and pay cost them $37/month in decreased TV service. Keep up the good work, I save money everytime and will be be paying Shaw $0 if this keeps up.
