I have a problem with my FaceTime connection. It froze on me every time I communicate with my daughter. Is this an Internet problem?
It sounds like a signal issue on either your side or hers.
Let's look at your side first. Are you seeing issues like this on anything else you do on the internet? For example, do you use Facetime with anyone else, or do you see lots of similar freezing on Youtube?
Also, is this on a laptop or phone connecting by wifi? Or on a computer directly connected to the modem?
Thanks for quick response. I am using iPad. Everything else is fine. It is just FaceTime that is giving me trouble.
Thanks for following up with more info. If it is only with FaceTime through that one iPad there is a chance it is just that one app causing the problem.
The first step I would suggest is simply uninstalling that app and reinstalling it and trying that again, a lot of times that is all it takes to get an app working correctly.
For checking connection, where do you use the app? Is it in the same room as your modem or in another part of the house? If you could try using FaceTime close to the modem and see if that works any better that could help to narrow down if it is a wireless issue in the home or just speed itself.
Also if you can go to a computer in the home and run a speed test at http://speedtest.shaw.ca that will let us know where you are now!
I would try rebooting the iPad to start. That solves most issues with Apple products. I would also run a speed test. Download the Ookla Speed Test app on the iPad, and run it from there. If speeds are good, then it's something else causing the issue. I may be the other end.
