as a WiFi spot. What is that?
ShawPasspoint WiFi hotspots are part of our new Hotspot 2.0 program. If you have a device that can register and connect to them (Apple iOS 8 or later), they offer a simplified registration process and improved security while connected to them. Please see About Shaw Go WiFi for more info.
Ah, okay, thanks.
I'm already registered and it works fine for Shaw open. Do I have to register separately for 2.0?
Will I automatically connect to either one? Does one have priority over another?
Is there an advantage of one over another, e.g. more secure?
Shaw PassPoint is more secure than Shaw Open. It does require separate registration, but once you're registered for PassPoint it should connect to that network automatically whenever it's available. The PassPoint network does have priority over Shaw Open.
