I have a new(ish) Shaw modem (Cisco) - Live streaming videos is often very slow - apparently I have two settings: 2.4 & 5.0 (?) - it is on the 2.4 setting should I be using the 5.0 ?
Hey there rubytuesday49,
Sorry to hear that your video streaming isn't going as smoothly as it should! 2.4Ghz shouldn't have any issues streaming video, but there might be interference causing issues with the quality of the connection. I'd recommend checking out the steps over at WiFi Connectivity Troubleshooting & the tips at WiFi Interference to try and eliminate any factors that could be interfering. In particular, the steps in regards to adjusting your wireless channel to 1, 6 and 11 should help.
For 5Ghz, if your device can connect to it, it's worth a shot to see if it's any quicker. By default the network should just have "5G" at the end of it, so try connecting to that one and see if it's any better.
If you continue to have issues, please let us know what internet package you are on, and what results you get when you run a speedtest and we can take a closer look.
